Apple China's official website has recently quietly launched a dedicated introduction page for iOS 18. Surprisingly, despite iOS 18's global attention for incorporating cutting-edge AI technology, the AI highlights are not the main focus in the Chinese market's introduction.
Looking back at Apple's grand event at WWDC this year, AI was undoubtedly a highlight, with the release of the Apple Intelligence large model and the deep collaboration with ChatGPT, both marking significant strides in Apple's move towards intelligence. However, due to technical limitations and policy considerations, ChatGPT and Apple Intelligence are temporarily unable to provide services in the Chinese market, which directly led to the absence of AI features in iOS 18 domestically, and thus they did not take a place in the official introduction.
Nevertheless, Apple has not ignored the experience needs of Chinese users, and instead has focused on personalization upgrades. The introduction page extensively showcases the new personalized experiences brought by iOS 18, including the freedom to adjust app icon colors, a comprehensive upgrade to the Control Center, personalized customization of the gallery layout, and dynamic animations in the information interface. Each feature is designed to make the user's device more in line with personal style and usage habits.
In addition, for gaming enthusiasts, iOS 18 has especially introduced a domestic standard gaming mode. Once in gaming mode, it automatically activates, effectively reducing unnecessary background activities, ensuring smooth gameplay, and significantly reducing the latency of AirPods wireless headphones and gaming controllers, bringing players a more immersive gaming experience.
