Gmail has recently launched the Summarize feature supported by Gemini for Android and iOS users. This feature is currently available only to paying customers and is designed to improve email handling efficiency by summarizing email content.

The Summarize feature generates a "Summarize this Email" button below the subject line, but it is only applicable to email threads with more than two replies. After the user clicks the button, the system generates key points within a second and displays them through a form that slides up from the bottom of the screen. Although there is no "Enter a prompt here" field at the bottom of the form to ask follow-up questions yet, this feature may be added with the introduction of Gmail's Q&A feature.

The Summarize feature is being promoted starting today and will be fully launched in the coming weeks. It is particularly suitable for summarizing long newsletters and email conversations with multiple replies.

In addition to the mobile version, the web version of Gmail has also introduced a sidebar supported by Gemini 1.5Pro. Users can get email subject summaries, reply suggestions, assistance in drafting emails, and the ability to find specific information from the inbox or Google Drive files by clicking on the Gemini flash icon in the upper right corner.

Both features are applicable to Gemini Business and Enterprise add-ons, Gemini Education, and Education Premium add-ons, as well as the Google One AI Advanced Plan.

Next month, Google plans to further launch the Gmail Q&A and Contextual Smart Reply features to enhance the email management experience for users. By continuously introducing AI-driven features, Gmail is committed to providing users with a more intelligent and efficient way to handle emails.
