Apple Inc. recently announced the upcoming release of a new and upgraded version of its intelligent assistant, Siri, in the fall of this year. This update brings a multitude of new features to Siri, significantly enhancing its performance and practicality.
The new Siri will have a stronger language comprehension capability. Even if the user speaks in a stammered or confused manner, Siri can accurately understand the user's intent. For example, a user might say, "Siri, set an alarm, oh, wait, set a 10-minute timer. In fact, make it 5 minutes." Siri can understand and execute the final command.
In addition, Siri will support contextual understanding, allowing users to have continuous conversations without repeating background information. For instance, after asking about a location, you can directly follow up with "What's the weather like there?" Siri will automatically refer to the previous answer.
The new Siri will also support text input functionality. Users can simply double-tap the button on the iPhone or iPad screen to ask Siri questions through the keyboard. This feature is particularly useful in quiet or noisy environments, ensuring that users' needs are understood accurately.
Siri's knowledge base will also be expanded, especially in terms of Apple's products and services. Users can ask Siri how to use various features on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and Siri will provide detailed operational guidance.
The new Siri will also have cross-application operation capabilities. Users can instruct Siri to edit a photo in the photo app and then send it directly to a specific contact without manually switching between apps.
This update to Siri also includes features such as personalized customization and screen awareness. It can understand personal information on the user's device, such as emails and text messages, and take corresponding actions based on the content displayed on the screen.
Apple Inc. stated that this update aims to make Siri a more intelligent and personalized assistant, providing users with a more convenient and efficient experience. The new Siri will be released with the system update this fall.
