At yesterday's Unpacked event, Samsung Electronics not only launched the new generation of folding smartphones, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, but also made a significant announcement regarding the advancement of Galaxy AI. The company proudly stated that by the end of this year, Galaxy AI will cover up to 200 million devices, showcasing Samsung's ambition in the field of artificial intelligence.

While Apple has not yet introduced its latest AI features to its phones, Samsung has taken a leap forward by rolling out a series of innovative features. Among them, the most attention-grabbing is an AI assistant designed specifically to help children with their homework.

The new feature, named "Homework Helper," is developed based on the "Circle Search" feature of Galaxy AI. Users simply need to long-press the virtual home button and draw a circle on the screen to search for any content on it. The new version also adds a screen content translation feature, enhancing its practicality.

What makes the Homework Helper unique is that it doesn't directly provide answers but guides children through the entire process of solving problems. This approach aims to cultivate children's independent thinking and problem-solving skills. Currently, the feature focuses on mathematical problems, especially symbolic mathematics, but Samsung says it will expand to more subjects in the future.

Samsung emphasizes that the purpose of developing this feature is to cultivate children into independent problem solvers. The Homework Helper will be available on devices supporting "Circle Search," and the function to solve symbolic matching problems will be launched on July 24th, the same day as the new folding screen phone's release.

Compared to Apple's Apple Intelligence, Samsung's Galaxy AI has already taken a step ahead in terms of features. This not only reflects Samsung's innovative capabilities in AI but also demonstrates the company's emphasis on educational technology.

As Galaxy AI continues to develop, we can expect to see more innovative features in the coming years, further changing how we use smart devices, especially in the educational field. Samsung's move is undoubtedly going to bring a new competitive dimension to the smartphone market, driving the entire industry towards a more intelligent and educationally valuable direction.
