Google has become the "Official AI Sponsor of Team USA," and you'll often see this when the 2024 Olympics live broadcast begins on July 26th. NBCUniversal's collaboration with Google will highlight many AI-based features of the company during the event.
This live broadcast will include 3D views of venues such as the Palace of Versailles, Roland Garros Stadium, and the Aquatics Center on Google Maps, along with details about the events happening at each location. The imagery comes from the immersive views Google Maps has added in recent years, which present certain landmarks and areas of interest with realistic models.
As part of the deal to promote Gemini and other Google AI tools, commentators will attempt to answer questions about the Olympics and Paralympics, mentioning them in broadcast segments through an AI overview on Google Search.
Additionally, comedian Leslie Jones will ask Gemini to help her learn a new sport, and five Olympic and Paralympic athletes will use Gemini, Google Lens, Circle to Search, and Google Maps' immersive view to appear in "social videos and late-night promotions," exploring Paris.
