It is reported that by the first half of 2024, Beijing has made major breakthroughs in AI, with 71 large-scale models launched, accounting for over 40% of the national total, highlighting the city's leading position in AI technology development.

Data shows that the added value of the city's digital economy increased by 7.8% year-on-year, with the information service sector achieving an added value of 494.46 billion yuan, up 12.4% year-on-year, contributing 2.6 percentage points to GDP growth.
These achievements are closely related to the AI industry development strategy formulated by Beijing last year. As previously reported, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology announced plans to solidify the foundation for AI industry development, support leading companies in creating large models comparable to ChatGPT, and focus on building an open-source framework and application ecosystem for general large models. Additionally, Beijing plans to strengthen the layout of AI computing infrastructure and accelerate the supply of basic AI data to support the construction of an international science and technology innovation center and a global digital economy benchmark city.
