Meta's recent financial report indicates significant success of its AI products in the Indian market. Susan Li, Meta's Chief Financial Officer, revealed that despite Meta AI being launched in India just a few months ago, the country has already become its largest user base. This achievement is closely tied to the 500 million-strong user base of WhatsApp in India.
Li stated that since its launch, Meta AI has processed billions of queries. Particularly on the WhatsApp platform, user retention and engagement rates have been outstanding. Meta AI is now available in 22 countries and has recently expanded to several Latin American countries.
However, Meta's development in the Indian market has not been without challenges. The company faces the task of adapting AI to local culture, including handling religious sensitive topics and image generation biases. Meta has taken steps to adjust its algorithms to ensure fairness.
In addition to English, Meta AI now supports multiple languages, including Hindi, further enhancing its appeal in emerging markets like India.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also revealed that the company is developing the next-generation Llama4 model, which will require 10 times the computational power of Llama3. This demonstrates Meta's ambition and long-term investment in the AI field.
Apart from AI, Meta's social products continue to see strong growth. The number of Threads users is approaching 200 million, and Facebook's usage among young users in the U.S. is also on the rise.
