Today, Apple Inc. announced its financial results, revealing that it achieved a total net revenue of $85.777 billion in the third fiscal quarter of 2024, representing a 5% increase year-over-year.
Breaking down by product, despite a decline, iPhone revenue still exceeded expectations, reaching $39.296 billion. Mac and iPad revenues were $7.009 billion and $7.162 billion respectively, both showing growth, with iPad's growth surpassing expectations. Revenue from wearables, home devices, and accessories slightly decreased to $8.097 billion, but service revenue grew to $24.213 billion.
During a conference call, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that certain features of Apple Intelligence will be rolled out gradually within the year. However, these innovative functions will only be available to users of iPads and Macs equipped with the M1 chip or later versions, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro series or higher-end models.
This fall, Apple is expected to release the new iPhone 16, which will also support Apple Intelligence, likely sparking further consumer interest in purchasing.
Although Apple Intelligence will be provided for free with the updates to iOS 18 and macOS 15, the hardware requirements for these devices may limit the number of users who can experience these new features.
He further mentioned that Apple's investments in artificial intelligence have grown annually, and the company is dedicating more resources to the development of AI technology.
