Amap recently announced that its nighttime traffic light countdown feature, after undergoing significant model upgrades and comprehensive optimizations, has been re-launched. The upgraded system is better equipped to meet user needs, providing higher quality countdown services.
When users are waiting at a straight lane for a red light, the Amap app will automatically display the countdown for the red light. As the countdown nears its end, approximately 5 seconds remaining, the system will issue a reminder, preparing the user. If a particular intersection has a high volume of traffic, and one cycle of traffic lights is not sufficient for all vehicles to pass, the app will indicate the number of red light cycles that need to be waited through.
Amap's R&D team has continuously optimized the data, comparing the countdown output from the model with the actual traffic light seconds, and through repeated training and optimization, enhanced the large model's recognition and prediction capabilities for nighttime traffic patterns.
Currently, Amap's nighttime countdown service has not only resumed but also achieved stable all-day release, ensuring users receive accurate countdown information.
