Recently, Audible, the audiobook company owned by Amazon, announced that they are testing an AI assistant named "Maven," designed to help users find their favorite audiobooks more easily. Starting today, some U.S. users can try this new feature.

"Maven" is a clever little assistant! Users can input their needs in natural language, such as "I want to find an inspirational novel with a female protagonist." Then, Maven will recommend suitable books from a catalog of nearly one million titles based on the user's request.

Currently, this service is available on both iOS and Android devices, and about half of the U.S. users can experience this feature, although it currently only covers a portion of the audiobook library.

Interestingly, Audible has not detailed which specific AI models this assistant is based on. However, a company spokesperson stated that Maven will combine "the strengths of multiple models" and will continue to be optimized as technology advances.

In addition to Maven, Audible is also experimenting with other AI applications, such as AI-curated book lists and AI-generated review summaries. These new features may be Audible's response to platforms like Spotify, which have already introduced AI-generated playlists.

Furthermore, reports have indicated that users have been listening to thousands of audiobooks voiced by AI, raising concerns among some creators that robots might take over the jobs of audiobook narrators. According to statistics, over 40,000 books have used AI voiceovers, and this number is continuously growing.
