Since the release of ChatGPT on November 30, 2022, as of July 29, 2024, among the newly registered artificial intelligence-related enterprises in China, 78,612 are now in a state of cancellation, revocation, or abnormal suspension, with nearly 80,000 enterprises having disappeared from the market, accounting for 8.9% of the total 878,000 new registrations during the same period.

Additionally, it has been reported that over the past three years, the total number of AI-related enterprises in China that have been canceled or revoked exceeds 200,000. Over the past decade, a total of 353,000 AI-related enterprises have vanished, including cases of cancellation, revocation, liquidation, suspension of business, delisting, orders to close, and more.
Data shows that there are currently 1,804,300 AI-related enterprises in China. Among them, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology statistics indicate over 4,500 enterprises related to the Chinese AI industry system, and China has already completed the filing and launched more than 180 generative AI service large models that are available to the public, with the number of registered users exceeding 564 million.
As of August 7, 2024, this year has seen the addition of 300,700 new AI-related enterprises, demonstrating a new phenomenon of "turnover" within the industry.
