As the 2024 US Open Tennis Championships approaches, fans and athletes are set to experience an unprecedented digital journey. IBM and the United States Tennis Association (USTA) have once again joined forces to introduce a series of innovative AI features designed to enhance interaction and information dissemination during the tournament. These AI highlights, powered by the watsonx platform, will provide more detailed post-match summaries, more vivid AI commentary, and an upgraded SlamTracker during the event.

This year, IBM has specifically launched AI-generated match reports, covering every men's and women's singles match, allowing spectators to receive comprehensive analyses within minutes after the match. These reports not only include player performance, statistics, and highlights but also undergo review and supplementation by the USTA editorial team to ensure the accuracy and authority of the content. IBM states that this technology will enable the USTA to provide information to fans at an unprecedented speed and scale across all 254 main draw singles matches.

Additionally, IBM's AI commentary feature has been enhanced, allowing fans to enjoy updated English commentary and subtitles on digital platforms, adding more fun to highlight videos of men's and women's singles matches. The commentary this year is more frequent, vivid, and emotional, enabling viewers to relive the thrilling moments of the match within minutes.

The redesigned SlamTracker is also highly anticipated, offering detailed analyses before, during, and after the match, including win probability predictions, point-by-point breakdowns, and match summaries. The launch of these new features aims to provide comprehensive coverage of the tournament for fans worldwide, ensuring that everyone can stay updated with the latest match developments.

Moreover, IBM and the USTA's charitable foundation have collaborated to offer free professional training courses, targeting students, teachers, and the public from the A Foundation's National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) program. This initiative helps increase participation and supports IBM's goal of "enhancing skills for 30 million people by 2030."
