Scientists from Zhejiang University and the University of Texas at Austin have collaborated to develop an artificial intelligence algorithm capable of accurately predicting earthquakes. During a seven-month trial in China, this AI algorithm demonstrated remarkable predictive capabilities, successfully forecasting 14 earthquakes within a range of over 300 kilometers one week in advance, with an accuracy rate of 70%.
What's even more exciting is that this AI algorithm can also calculate the intensity of earthquakes. This achievement undoubtedly brings new hope to earthquake early warning and disaster response efforts.

Researchers stated that although it is currently unclear whether the algorithm is applicable globally, they are confident in further improving the prediction accuracy and narrowing the prediction range. The next step will involve testing in Texas, where minor and moderate earthquakes frequently occur, making it an ideal testing ground.
With the continuous advancement of technology, the application prospects of artificial intelligence in early warning and response to natural disasters are vast. This groundbreaking research undoubtedly opens new possibilities for earthquake prediction and disaster prevention.
