Huawei has recently launched a remarkable initiative – the "Huawei AI University Plan," which is not only a generous gift to domestic universities but also a powerful boost to research innovation and talent development in the AI field.

In the realm of AI research and education, computational resources often pose a bottleneck to innovation. The "Huawei AI University Plan" is designed to address this issue by providing university faculty and students with robust AI computing resources based on Ascend cloud services, freeing their innovative thinking from hardware constraints.

The plan particularly focuses on university teams with significant research achievements and profound influence in the AI field. Whether it's fundamental technology research, collaborative problem-solving with Huawei, or efforts in AI talent cultivation, all fall within the scope of support.

Project teams can submit applications online, covering a wide range of research areas including AI operators, algorithms, model inference, and large-scale model training. Huawei will comprehensively evaluate the objectives, value, innovativeness, advancement, and potential impact on the industry and ecosystem of the applications.

Projects that pass the review will have the opportunity to receive Ascend cloud AI computing resource support worth between 50,000 to 1 million annually. This is not only an endorsement of the project but also a strong support for the team's research aspirations.

Dr. Zhou Hong, President of the Huawei Strategy Research Institute, emphasized the profound significance of the plan: "We deeply understand the challenges faced by university faculty in AI research and teaching. The 'Huawei AI University Plan' aims to provide not only technical support but also to foster research innovation and AI talent development through Ascend cloud services."
