Smart scheduling tool Clockwise has received a significant update, introducing an AI-driven interface called Prism. This new tool not only helps manage schedule conflicts but also allows for batch creation or deletion of events, and even converts to-do items directly into calendar appointments, making schedule management more efficient and intelligent.

Similar to other startups like Vimcal and Reclaim, Clockwise focuses on simplifying scheduling for teams, although it can also be used individually. The standout feature of Prism is its ability to transform text commands you input directly into calendar events. For example, typing "Schedule a meeting with Severian next week" will prompt Prism to generate a link or text block for you to share your availability. If the proposed meeting time conflicts with other events, Prism will intelligently suggest an alternative time slot.

Another powerful feature of Prism is the ability to share a link for other participants to respond to suggested meeting times, while also displaying potential conflicts. For urgent meetings, Prism can cross-reference schedules of different team members, automatically select the best time, and reschedule conflicting events.

Additionally, Prism allows you to schedule tasks from your to-do list onto the calendar and move them when necessary. If you need to have similar meetings with multiple people, such as "15-minute one-on-one meetings with Frank, Robin, Nami, and Tony," Prism can handle this with ease.

Clockwise CEO Matt Martin told TechCrunch that the company uses a custom scheduling engine that can interface with natural language queries and intelligently identify conflicts and optimal times. Martin also emphasized that unlike directly connecting large language models to the Google Calendar API, Clockwise has spent seven years building the world's most advanced scheduling engine, which is key to Prism's ability to quickly and reliably find the best time slots for tasks and meetings.

Currently, Clockwise offers Prism for free to all customers and is working to integrate more deeply with Google Calendar and provide better support for weekly planning. This marks an important advancement in smart scheduling tools, offering teams and individuals a smoother and more intuitive scheduling experience.
