Recently, Apple Inc. released the latest developer beta versions, including iOS18.1, iPadOS18.1, and macOS15.1 Sequoia. In this update, Apple introduced a series of new Apple Intelligence features, with the most notable being the "AI Removal" function for photos, allowing users to easily remove unwanted objects from their images.

This "Removal" function is highly intelligent; users only need to tap once to select the object they wish to remove, and the system will automatically generate the background using AI technology to ensure the overall effect of the photo remains unaffected. Apple states that this system can not only recognize the shadows and reflections of deleted objects but also effectively handle these details to fill in the background.

In practical use, users can select objects through the smart detection feature or directly circle or smudge unwanted objects with their fingers to delete them. This way, the photos taken can become cleaner, perfectly showcasing the desired scene.

Interestingly, this new feature from Apple is quite similar to Google's "Magic Eraser" feature launched earlier this year. Google has already made this technology available to all Google Photos users, while Apple first introduced this function in the developer beta of iOS18.1. Although the Apple Intelligence feature is currently only available to English-speaking users in the United States, it undoubtedly brings more possibilities to photo editing.

Additionally, in July of this year, Apple's initial rollout of Apple Intelligence features also included writing tools, notification summaries for messages and emails, natural language search, memory creation in photos, transcription of calls and voice notes, and summary and smart reply functions for emails. The introduction of these features has undoubtedly made the user experience of Apple devices more intelligent.

With this update, users will be able to handle their photos in a more convenient way, looking forward to more innovations from Apple in AI technology in the future!
