On August 29th, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) announced the results of its Trusted AI Intelligent Coding Tools evaluation. Baidu's intelligent coding assistant, Wenxin Kuaima (Baidu Comate), received a 4+ rating in the first round of assessments, becoming one of the first domestic companies to achieve the highest current rating. This evaluation was based on the CAICT's "Intelligent Software Engineering Technology and Application Requirements Part 2: Intelligent Development Capabilities" standard published in April 2024, covering five capability items including intelligent coding, code quality inspection, developer assistance, non-functional items, and engineering capabilities, totaling 191 capability requirements.
Wenxin Kuaima excelled in areas such as intelligent coding, code quality inspection, and developer assistance, meeting the requirements for functional accuracy and richness. The tool integrates rich private domain knowledge and authoritative public knowledge resources, and through retrieval-enhanced generation, it possesses multi-modal generation capabilities, enabling front-end page development based on images, and has been successfully applied in actual projects.
Wenxin Kuaima is based on the Wenxin large model and Baidu's two decades of programming site big data, covering over 100 programming languages including Java, Python, and C++, and supports more than 10 mainstream IDEs such as JetBrains and VSCode. Since its release in June last year, Wenxin Kuaima has been updated to version 2.5, integrating technological innovations such as model training, inference acceleration, engineering practices, and security guarantees. It not only efficiently completes basic programming tasks but also leads in capabilities such as code continuation, code explanation, NL2Code, and Code Debug.
Wenxin Kuaima's business adaptability has been significantly enhanced, able to provide code explanations and flowcharts in conjunction with real business scenarios, helping developers intuitively understand the call logic, match the best solutions, and generate business-adapted code, effectively improving research and development efficiency. Additionally, Wenxin Kuaima offers enterprise-level security guarantees, capable of identifying security issues at the coding stage and automatically fixing vulnerabilities to ensure data security.
Baidu's engineer data shows that 80% of Baidu's engineers have deeply used Wenxin Kuaima, with new code generation accounting for 30% and a code adoption rate exceeding 46%.
