Dell Technologies and Red Hat recently announced an exciting collaboration aimed at integrating Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI (RHEL AI) into Dell's PowerEdge servers. The purpose of this initiative is to facilitate easier development, testing, and deployment of generative AI models for enterprises, enabling successful AI and machine learning strategies in hybrid cloud environments.

In this collaboration, Joe Fernandez, Vice President of Red Hat's Generative AI Foundation Model Platform, pointed out that the implementation of AI inherently requires substantial resources, including powerful servers, computing power, and graphics processing units (GPUs).

As more organizations begin to evaluate and implement generative AI use cases, choosing a reliable platform that matches business growth and offers flexibility becomes尤为 important. He stated, "With the partnership with Dell Technologies, customers can more confidently leverage generative AI workloads in hybrid cloud environments to drive business innovation."

This collaboration will provide users with a more consistent AI experience, all based on optimized AI hardware solutions, combining Dell PowerEdge servers with RHEL AI. Dell and Red Hat teams are continuously testing and validating these hardware solutions to ensure they run smoothly, especially in conjunction with Nvidia accelerated computing. Bob Pett, Vice President of Nvidia's enterprise platform, also emphasized that modern enterprises must rely on validated AI solutions to launch their generative AI projects.

The RHEL AI solution integrates IBM Research's Granite large language model (LLM), InstructLab model alignment tools, which are based on large conversational machine learning (LAB) methodologies, and employs a "community-driven" development model. This solution is expected to be launched in the third quarter of this year and will be available as a bootable RHEL image, supporting standalone server deployment in hybrid clouds. Additionally, RHEL AI is part of Red Hat OpenShift AI, a machine learning operations platform focused on hybrid clouds, helping users efficiently run AI models in distributed cluster environments.

Arun Nagarajan, Senior Vice President of Dell Technologies, said, "By validating RHEL AI on Dell PowerEdge servers, customers will be confident in the ongoing testing and validation of servers, GPUs, and the underlying platform.
