Johny Srouji, Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies at Apple, revealed in a recent media interview that the entire iPhone16 series will come with 8GB of RAM due to the integration of AI features. He emphasized that this configuration is the result of careful consideration for performance and efficiency.
Srouji explained that Apple Intelligence is the key driver behind the adoption of 8GB RAM, and this RAM configuration will also significantly enhance the performance of other applications, including high-end games and native 3A games.
In stark contrast, the iPhone15 series only offered 8GB RAM in the Pro version. It is predicted that the next year's iPhone17 series will start with 12GB of RAM.
Srouji believes that Apple's comprehensive advantages in software, hardware, and product integration bring numerous benefits. To avoid wasting memory resources, after multiple tests, Apple has determined that 8GB is the optimal RAM configuration.
