Recently, Nvidia announced a partnership with G42, an artificial intelligence company based in Abu Dhabi, to establish a laboratory focused on climate technology. This marks Nvidia's first collaboration with a top AI enterprise in the United Arab Emirates, aiming to enhance the accuracy of weather forecasts through AI technology.

According to the statements from both parties, the climate tech lab will be located in Abu Dhabi, serving as a research and development hub to advance the companies' commitments to environmental sustainability.
The lab will fully utilize Nvidia's Earth-2 platform, an open tool for climate and weather prediction. It will leverage over 100PB of geophysical data assets to develop specialized climate and weather solutions. Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, stated that the Earth-2 climate tech lab will drive progress in environmental solutions through advanced accelerated computing and AI technologies.
It is worth noting that G42 recently received a $1.5 billion investment from Microsoft, which was obtained after the two companies reached an agreement with the US government. The agreement required G42 to cease any cooperation with China. G42 also partnered with OpenAI, the founding company of ChatGPT, aiming to expand its business in the Gulf region. This collaboration with Nvidia further solidifies the UAE's stance as a potential AI superpower in the Middle East, complementing the vast economic empire of Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor.
As the global demand for AI technology continues to rise, Nvidia is accelerating the development of its products. The company plans to update its AI accelerators annually and is already developing a new generation platform called Rubin, expected to be launched in 2026.
