This collaboration was first reported last year. Ive confirmed the news in his personal profile in The New York Times and shared his activities after leaving Apple. The idea for the startup originated from a dinner between Ive and Altman last year. Although the company's name has not been disclosed, Ive's design firm LoveFrom is in charge of the design, aiming to create an AI computing experience that is less disruptive to social interactions than the iPhone.
Although product details and release dates remain uncertain, industrial designer Marc Newson, who is collaborating with Ive, said that the startup is actively raising funds. Laurene Powell Jobs' Emerson Collective and Ive himself are involved, with the goal of raising up to $1 billion by the end of this year.
