Tencent Cloud has partnered with Xiaomi to launch the new smart door lock M30Pro, which incorporates Tencent's "palm-sweeping technology." This product utilizes AI-powered palm print and palm vein recognition to offer users a novel and secure method for unlocking.
The technology is based on Tencent's proprietary "palm print + palm vein" recognition algorithm. It captures subcutaneous vein images through near-infrared light penetrating the skin, achieving high-precision identity verification. Given the uniqueness of each person's palm veins, this technology not only enhances the convenience of unlocking but also significantly boosts security.
Tencent's palm-sweeping technology has undergone extensive real-world testing, boasting an accuracy rate of over 99.9999%. To ensure user experience, Tencent Cloud employs technologies such as expanded field of view, anti-motion blur, real-time quality optimization, light filtering, and controllable supplementary lighting, eliminating the influence of external environments on recognition. Users can easily unlock the door from a range of 9cm to 20cm in various postures.
Additionally, Tencent's YouTu Lab has developed a model generation algorithm that uses AI-generated images to replace palm samples for algorithm model training, enhancing the efficiency of model training. The Xiaomi smart door lock M30Pro is also equipped with a financial-grade algorithm model that effectively defends against attacks using over ten types of dynamic and static palm materials, such as photos and videos.
All new Xiaomi M30 series door locks incorporate Tencent Cloud's related technologies, offering users a secure and efficient unlocking experience. By the end of 2023, Tencent Cloud had become the market leader in palm vein algorithm for the smart door lock industry. This collaboration marks a further expansion of Tencent Cloud in the smart home sector and showcases Xiaomi's innovative capabilities in the smart door lock market.
