On September 25th, Baidu's Wenxin Kuaima topped the leaderboards of both Sullivan and SuperCLUE, two major evaluation institutions. The "2024 AI Code Generation Market Observation Report - Milestone" jointly released by Sullivan and Toubao Research Institute shows that Baidu's Wenxin Kuaima ranks first in eight critical dimensions including technical depth, application implementation, and product maturity, becoming the product with the most first-place awards among all participating vendors.
On the same day, the domestic evaluation institution SuperCLUE released the "Chinese Native Code Assistant Evaluation Benchmark Ranking," where Baidu's Wenxin Kuaima also ranked first among domestic AI code products with a total score of 87.55.
Sullivan's report evaluated the comprehensive competitiveness of six Chinese AI code generation vendors including Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, iFlytek, SenseTime, and Zhipu AI across four stages and ten dimensions. Wenxin Kuaima, relying on the Wenxin large model and Baidu's programming big data, has achieved full-chain intelligent assistance, significantly enhancing coding efficiency, unleashing software productivity, and allowing developers to focus on innovation and product iteration.
Sullivan's report specifically highlighted three major strengths of Wenxin Kuaima: over 20 years of technical accumulation, cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and ease of use. The report also noted that Wenxin Kuaima continuously iterates in code generation, code explanation, comment generation, and code optimization, covering the entire R&D process and effectively meeting market and enterprise needs.
Additionally, in SuperCLUE's evaluation, Wenxin Kuaima scored higher than other domestic products in code generation and rewriting, code understanding and analysis, and code optimization and repair, maintaining a leading position.
Since its release in June last year, Wenxin Kuaima has been updated to version 2.5, covering over 200 programming languages including Java, Python, and C++, and supports over 10 mainstream IDEs such as JetBrains and VSCode. 85% of Baidu's engineers are already using Wenxin Kuaima deeply, with 30% of new code generation and a code adoption rate exceeding 46%. Furthermore, Wenxin Kuaima has been applied to over ten thousand enterprise customers including Geely Auto, SF Technology, Founder Securities, Huanong Insurance, Himalaya, Tongcheng Travel, Miniso, Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator, covering industries such as automotive, finance, logistics, internet, machinery manufacturing, software services, and integrated circuits.
Sullivan predicts that by 2028, the scale of the Chinese AI code generation market will grow to 33 billion RMB, and AI code generation will penetrate more industries and fields. Baidu's Wenxin Kuaima's outstanding performance not only proves its leading position in the AI code generation field but also sets a new benchmark for the development of the entire AI industry.
