According to data from Qichacha, over the past decade, the annual registration of artificial intelligence-related companies in China has been increasing. In 2023, a total of 537,000 AI-related companies were registered, setting a new high for the decade; as of September 27, this year has seen a cumulative registration of 3.766 million related companies.
In terms of the number of existing companies, there are currently 1.859 million AI-related companies in China. Regionally, Guangdong has the most, with 271,600 companies, nearly twice as many as the second-most region, Jiangsu, which has 143,500 AI-related companies. In terms of city distribution, AI-related companies are concentrated in high-level provincial capitals, with first-tier cities Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Shanghai leading the nation.
