Recently, Adobe has finally launched a highly anticipated free web application called "Content Authenticity." This new tool aims to help creators protect their work from improper use, especially to prevent it from being used to train artificial intelligence (AI) models. The application is expected to begin public beta testing in the first quarter of 2025, and it will be available to everyone without the need for an Adobe subscription!

The "Content Authenticity" application allows creators to add metadata to their digital works, which includes important information such as the creator's name, website, and social media accounts.

Simply put, this is like giving your work an identity card to ensure everyone knows who the creator is. Additionally, this metadata includes the creation and editing process of the work, similar to the "nutritional information" of digital content.

A particularly important feature is that creators can choose to exclude their content from being used to train generative AI models. This means if you do not want your work to be used for AI training, you can opt-out in the application, and Adobe will strongly support this option.

It is worth noting that Adobe's own Firefly AI only uses authorized content for training.

Furthermore, the metadata added in the application is carefully designed to be difficult to remove, even persisting in screenshots. This significantly enhances the protection of the work. Additionally, Adobe will release a Chrome extension to help users view these content credentials on websites.

In fact, the launch of this application also responds to the voices of many creators. A survey by Adobe showed that 91% of creators want a reliable method to attach attribution to their content, while 56% are concerned that their work might be used to train AI without consent. To this end, Adobe has closely collaborated with the creative community during the development process to strive for an effective solution.

Adobe emphasizes that the web application was developed in close collaboration with the creative community. It is intended to serve as a central hub for managing content credentials and will integrate with Adobe applications such as Photoshop, Lightroom, and Firefly.

Now, interested individuals can sign up for the waiting list on Adobe's official website, looking forward to experiencing more convenient features on this new tool in the future!
