Recently, Third Dimension AI announced a successful fundraising of $6.9 million, aimed at assisting game developers in using generative AI technology to build 3D game worlds. This funding will be used to expand the team size, further train generative AI models that convert 2D images and videos into 3D, and propel the company to become a leading 3D generation enterprise.

This round of financing was led by Felicis, with participation from Abstract Ventures, MVP, Soma Capital, and Salt Fund. The founding team of Third Dimension AI consists of experts from the autonomous driving and gaming sectors, including CEO Tolga Kart, Piotr Sokolski, and Özgun Pelvan. Their goal is to simplify the creation of large-scale 3D environments, making the production process as simple as pressing a button.

Third Dimension AI's technology is not only applicable to video games but also to drone flight simulations. Kart mentioned in an interview that this ability to generate worlds is the final piece of the puzzle for solving some complex engineering problems. They hope to enrich the content of creative industries and accurately simulate the real world through video game engines and next-generation generative AI technology.

In the future, Third Dimension AI plans to create a one-stop tool to accelerate the company's world-creation capabilities, helping artists reach quality standards faster and allowing engineers to build representations of fantasy or real worlds with high fidelity. Kart stated that future game artists can input their creative ideas into the AI engine using 2D or 3D images, and the system will generate corresponding game worlds based on these inspirations. This way, level designers and concept artists can obtain a playable world within just a couple of days, significantly enhancing production efficiency.

Third Dimension AI also has its sights set on virtual set applications in the film and television industry. Kart emphasized that their goal is to make the generated content appear as realistic as possible while saving time and money. To achieve this, the team is working on how to convert videos into 3D meshes.

Finally, Kart and his team hope to change the landscape of 3D creation with this technology. They will use technologies like Radiance Fields and Diffusion to reproduce real-world environments while creating entirely fictional ones.
