Recently, Meta announced the launch of its first generative AI features in the Ads Manager platform, with plans for global rollout by next year. These new features are designed to help advertisers better engage with customers and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of advertising creativity.
For qualified advertising professionals, they can utilize practical features such as background generation, which allows for custom backgrounds for products or materials; image expansion, to adjust content size between different formats; and text variations, to tailor ad text for different customer segments.
It is worth noting that Meta's generative AI advertising features have already been tested in a limited capacity in an environment called AI Sandbox, with very positive feedback. Meta mentioned in their blog, "Generative AI enables advertisers to launch new creative ads more quickly, but still needs to continue efforts in providing customized outputs that align with each brand's unique voice and visual style. We need to define new collaboration methods, working together with brands and agencies to train these models, helping to showcase the unique perspectives of brands."
Additionally, Meta plans to introduce more advertising features driven by generative AI, such as custom themes for different brand types, and AI functionalities for business messaging on Messenger and WhatsApp. Last week, Meta also unveiled its Movie Gen model, which can generate videos and audio, or be adjusted via text prompts. However, Movie Gen is not yet widely available to the public.
With the introduction of these new features, advertisers can look forward to more flexible and innovative ways of creating ads, leveraging AI technology to improve their advertising performance and customer engagement experiences.
