Meta announced on Wednesday that its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities will be expanded to 21 new countries. This service, named Meta AI, not only offers chatbots for conversation and search but also includes a creative studio capable of generating images based on text input.
According to Meta's press release, Meta AI is now gradually going live in 21 countries including Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Philippines, and the UK. In addition to these countries, many Latin American and Asian countries are also included. In the coming weeks, Meta's AI services will also be rolled out to the Middle East.
Meta stated that with this gradual launch, Meta AI will cover 43 countries and multiple languages. This means that more and more people will be able to use Meta AI to delve deeper into topics of interest, obtain practical guides, and find inspiration for art creation, home decoration, and daily fashion.
Another noteworthy news is that Meta AI will also be offered for the first time on Ray-Ban smart glasses in the UK and Australia today. The company said that its AI "is moving towards becoming the world's most popular assistant," with nearly 500 million monthly active users.
Users can access Meta AI independently through web browsers or use it within the company's applications such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. This chatbot can help users find recommended travel destinations and even generate images. The AI also allows users to gain deeper insights into specific posts they see on social media.
However, Meta is still delaying the launch of its latest AI model in the EU countries. Similar to Apple, Meta is concerned about local regulatory policies, fearing that it may be forced to implement unnecessary changes. For example, Apple recently stated that they have no plans to launch Apple Intelligence in the EU region for the time being.
