Recently, American defense contractor Anduril Industries announced the launch of two new autonomous aerial vehicles, Bolt and Bolt-M. These drones are equipped with advanced artificial intelligence technology and are marketed for their simplicity and extreme precision, aiming to revolutionize the traditional use of drones.
Bolt is a reconnaissance drone with a maximum flight distance of over 20 kilometers, a续航 time of more than 45 minutes, and weighs approximately 5.4 kilograms. Anduril states that this drone is not only suitable for reconnaissance but can also play a significant role in search and rescue missions. Its design philosophy is to reduce the manual operation burden on operators, allowing them to focus more on decision-making rather than tedious navigation tasks.
Bolt-M, on the other hand, is a drone weapon system designed for ground troops, aiming to provide a "simple, flexible, and lethal precision strike" capability. Its flight performance is similar to Bolt, but its weight varies between 5.9 and 6.8 kilograms depending on the payload. Anduril emphasizes that Bolt-M can attack from any angle, including precisely striking targets from directly above, which is highly advantageous in complex environments.
Both drones are equipped with advanced computer vision and machine learning software, allowing operators to track targets from a safe distance, even when the target is obscured. Anduril further notes that these drones are designed to be easy to control, quickly deployable, and require very little training time for operation.
Anduril has extensive experience in military and surveillance technology, having previously launched the Anvil drone capable of autonomous target identification and attack. Additionally, its Ghost surveillance drone has been widely used by the U.S. military. Currently, Anduril is also involved in the U.S. Air Force's collaborative fighter project, working on developing highly autonomous drones for future coordinated combat with manned aircraft.
Key Points:
- 🚁 Anduril's Bolt and Bolt-M drones are designed for reconnaissance and precision strikes respectively, supported by high automation and AI technology.
- 🎯 The Bolt drone can conduct reconnaissance within a 20-kilometer range, while the Bolt-M is tailored for ground forces, offering flexible strikes with high precision and multi-angle attack capabilities.
- ⚙️ Both drones are simple to operate, quick to deploy, and require minimal training, providing efficient combat support for the military.
