Korean telecom giant SKT recently announced that it will expand the AI capabilities, originally exclusive to its smartphone app A., to its integrated calling platform T Phone, renaming it A. Phone. This service, functioning as an AI personal assistant, can not only record calls and transcribe speech into text but also distill call content into summaries. Although users can record calls without limits, the operator notes that the call summarization feature is capped at 30 times per month.

The upgraded A. Phone platform also offers real-time simultaneous interpretation services, supporting Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese, which will greatly facilitate communication in multilingual environments.
Additionally, A. Phone features spam and phishing detection capabilities, able to identify and block calls from suspicious numbers, enhancing user call security.
Since launching its flagship T Phone service in January 2014, SKT has been striving to redefine its core business through AI technology, transforming into an AI company. The introduction of the A. Phone service marks a further deepening of SKT's involvement in the AI field, aiming to provide users with a more intelligent and personalized communication experience. By integrating AI technology into daily communications, SKT not only enhances user experience but also showcases its innovative capabilities and leadership in the telecommunications industry.
