At the latest MAX conference, Adobe introduced exciting new AI features, with the most notable being the Firefly AI Video Model and multiple enhanced Photoshop tools.

Firefly AI Video Model

The Firefly Video Model allows users to create or modify video content through text prompts, undoubtedly providing creators with a new realm of creative possibilities.

A significant feature of the Firefly Video Model is that it is trained only on authorized content, meaning users can feel more secure when using it commercially.

Through Adobe Premiere Pro's Extend feature, users can even add 2 seconds of footage to existing videos, supporting 720p and 1080p video formats at 24 frames per second.

Using the Firefly model, users can generate a brand new 5-second 720p video clip based on text and image inputs.

What's even better is that users can describe shooting parameters in detail, such as lens settings, lighting, color, and atmosphere. The more specific the description, the better the results. These details include lens type, characters, actions, locations, and desired aesthetic elements. Adobe also provides some video prompts to help users better utilize these features, such as clearly describing scenes, actions, and lighting effects to ensure there are no ambiguities.

New Photoshop AI Features

Additionally, Adobe has introduced a series of new AI features in Photoshop.

  • "Remove Tool" can automatically delete distracting elements like people or cables with just one click;

  • "Generative Fill" has been improved to fill images based on text instructions, resulting in more realistic effects;

  • "Generative Expand" allows users to extend the canvas beyond the boundaries of the original image;

  • "Generate Similar" and "Generate Background" features enable quick generation of variations and replacement of background content.

Adobe emphasizes its "creator-centric" approach to AI, ensuring respect and support for creators' work. Adobe promises to train models only on authorized content and does not use user data. To increase transparency, Adobe also provides "content credentials" for AI-generated content, helping users understand the source and process of creation.

Currently, these new AI features are available in Photoshop, Photoshop Beta, and the Photoshop web version, while users interested in experiencing the Firefly Video Model can join the waitlist.
