According to Jiemian News, OPPO is planning to acquire Hangzhou Waveform Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd., and intends to bring the company's CEO, Jiang Yuchen, into its team. Although OPPO has stated that there is no further information to disclose at the moment, insiders from Waveform Intelligence have confirmed the acquisition news and noted that the company's product operations are proceeding normally.
Waveform Intelligence is a company focused on large-scale model technology, founded by the young Jiang Yuchen in 2023. Jiang not only has an educational background from the Chu Kochen Honors College at Zhejiang University but also holds a doctorate from ETH Zurich, specializing in natural language generation. Earlier this year, Waveform Intelligence completed a Pre-A round of financing worth tens of millions of yuan, with BlueRun Ventures leading the investment.
Waveform Intelligence's flagship product is a writing assistance tool called WaWa Writing, which is based on the company's self-developed large model for Chinese creative verticals, Weaver. WaWa Writing aims to help novelists, self-media operators, and others improve their writing efficiency and achieve profitability through a subscription membership and per-service billing model.
