The Genmoji beta requires an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, iPhone 16 or 16 Plus, or iPhone 16 Pro or Pro Max, the iOS 18.2 developer beta, and early access to the Apple Intelligence image creation feature. Apple notes that during the testing phase, some image prompts "may produce unexpected results." Of course, these features are subject to change at any time.

To use Genmoji on your iPhone, users need to set up the iOS 18.2 beta and apply for early access to the image creation feature. Then, users can create and send Genmoji within the Messages app. Users can input a description of the Genmoji and select from all the variations prompted. Users can also save Genmoji to stickers, copy, and share them.

Image Playground is another new feature that allows users to create AI images in a cartoon style. Users can find the new "Image Playground" by pressing the "+" icon next to the text field in the Messages app, or by locating the dedicated Image Playground app on the last page of apps after installing iOS 18.2.
