Apple Inc. has announced an expansion of language support for its artificial intelligence service, Apple Intelligence, with plans to add support for Chinese and other languages through a software update in April 2025. Currently, the initial features of Apple Intelligence are available as a free software update with iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 to users in select countries and regions, provided that the device language and Siri language are set to American English.

Apple intends to extend support for additional languages in the near future. Specifically, Apple Intelligence will introduce support for local English in countries such as Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom in December. Further, it plans to expand support for more languages, including Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese, through a software update in April of next year.

Currently, Apple Intelligence is compatible with devices including the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as iPad and Mac devices equipped with the A17 Pro, M1, or newer chips.

The deep integration of Apple Intelligence into the iOS system offers users an exceptional experience, featuring system-wide Writing Tools, more natural and fluid Siri interactions, and smarter functionalities in the Photos app.
