According to Bloomberg, OpenAI's CFO, Sarah Friar, revealed that approximately 75% of the company's revenue comes from consumer subscriptions. OpenAI's consumer strategy is centered around the ChatGPT product, with monthly subscription fees starting at $20. The report states that OpenAI has successfully converted 5% to 6% of its free users into paid members.
Currently, ChatGPT has reached 250 million weekly active users. In addition to the consumer market, OpenAI also places great emphasis on enterprise users. The company announced in September that its enterprise products, ChatGPT Team, Enterprise, and ChatGPT Edu, have already accumulated over a million paid customers.
Friar pointed out that despite still being in the development stage, the business sector targeting enterprises has already achieved profitability. OpenAI is actively expanding its infrastructure, including constructing data centers in the United States that can provide up to 5 gigawatts of power, to support the growth of its artificial intelligence business.
