Salesforce has recently announced plans to recruit over 1000 new employees in the future to support the sales of its newly launched generative AI agent product.
CEO Marc Benioff stated in a message that this recruitment drive aims to capitalize on the "tremendous momentum" generated by the product. Notably, the product named "Agentforce" was just released two weeks ago, and Benioff has reported receiving enthusiastic feedback from customers.
As the world's largest supplier of customer relationship management software, Salesforce has made significant adjustments to its AI strategy this year, focusing on developing intelligent agents capable of completing tasks independently. These agents can provide customer support or sales development without human supervision. The initial pricing for the product is around $2 per conversation.
Over the past two years, Salesforce, headquartered in San Francisco, has worked to control sales costs, including reducing staff and encouraging some customers to use self-service or third-party purchase options more. As of the end of January, Salesforce had a total of 72,682 employees.
Currently, other software companies such as ServiceNow and Microsoft are also actively developing autonomous agent products. Benioff has criticized Microsoft's AI efforts multiple times, pointing out that the performance of its "Copilot" product in delivering to customers has been disappointing.
Following the release of the recruitment news by Salesforce, its stock price also rose, increasing by about 1.5% on Friday and then climbing another 2.5% to reach a historical high of $322.81. As of Thursday's close, Salesforce's stock has risen 18% this year.
