Microsoft announced the launch of a new tool, Azure AI Foundry, at its annual Ignite conference, aimed at simplifying the operational processes for cloud customers when building and deploying AI applications, and enhancing the commercial potential of generative AI.
This tool allows users to more easily switch between large language models that support AI. For instance, customers using the older version of OpenAI products can try the new model or choose alternatives from Mistral and Meta.

Scott Guthrie, Microsoft's cloud computing chief, stated that this tool not only supports the mixing and matching of different models but also helps customers ensure the stable operation of applications and achieve significant returns on investment. Azure AI Foundry will be available for free trial, aiming to encourage broader adoption of Microsoft cloud services among enterprises.
It is reported that there are currently 60,000 customers using Azure AI, which supports developers in calling upon 1,800 AI models to develop applications. However, with the rapid advancement of AI technology, customers face the complexity of model updates and application restructuring. The launch of Azure AI Foundry provides users with a more flexible and efficient solution, helping them quickly adapt to new technologies and avoid redundant development costs.
