Gyges Labs, a smart wearable device company, has announced the completion of a tens of millions Pre-A round financing, with investors including GSR Ventures, Chen Hao, the founder of Shokz, and NYX Ventures. Founded in 2022 by Stanford PhD Jia Jeyang, Gyges Labs focuses on the integration of optical and AI technologies to develop the next generation of smart glasses and wearable devices.
Gyges Labs' core technology, DigiWindow, significantly reduces the size of optical modules from centimeters to millimeters, enabling a lightweight design for smart glasses while eliminating issues of light leakage and rainbow patterns associated with traditional optical components. This technology supports standard optical lenses, meeting the needs of both myopic and hyperopic users without the need for customization, while ensuring visual effects and privacy security.
Currently, the DigiWindow technology has been applied to the first AI smart glasses co-created by Gyges Labs and moody, which will officially launch at the CES exhibition in January 2025. Weighing just over 30 grams, these smart glasses are made from nylon and titanium alloy materials and integrate a collaborative AI engine, supporting real-time environmental perception, intelligent translation, and information prompts, making it a "second brain" for users.
GSR Ventures partner Zhu Xiaohu highly praises Gyges Labs' technology and market prospects, believing that the DigiWindow technology achieves invisibility for display modules at a low cost, significantly broadening the application scenarios for smart glasses and providing possibilities for the smart upgrade of traditional eyewear manufacturers. He also stated that with the implementation of large models in the AI hardware field, hardware companies are expected to lead the market.
NYX Ventures investor Tong Tong Chan remarked that Gyges Labs' innovation in ultra-small display technology combined with AI injects new vitality into the eyewear industry, positioning smart glasses as essential tools for efficient office work.
In 2025, Gyges Labs plans to launch a new generation of smart glasses solutions and various AI wearable devices, further enhancing lightweight design, functionality, and interactive experience. These new products are expected to drive the expansion of AI smart hardware from the consumer market to industrial applications, bringing more possibilities for technological breakthroughs and commercial value.
