Apple Inc. today released the iOS 18.2 RC system update for iPhone users, marking another significant advancement in user experience. The core of this update lies in the further enhancement of Apple Intelligence, particularly with the introduction of the new Visual Intelligence feature, which allows users to identify objects and obtain more relevant information using their phone's camera.
For users of the iPhone 16 series, this update is especially important. For instance, users can simply point their phone's camera at a building and press the photo button to receive geographical information about that building. For places like restaurants, this feature can also display useful information such as operating hours and menus.
In terms of Siri, Apple has also made innovations. The new Siri will integrate ChatGPT technology to answer users' questions more intelligently. Before utilizing ChatGPT, Siri will first seek the user's consent to ensure their privacy and choice are respected.

However, currently, users in China and many non-English speakers cannot enjoy all the features of Apple Intelligence. Apple plans to gradually roll out multilingual versions of Apple Intelligence, including Chinese, Indian English, French, German, and Japanese, over the next year.
Furthermore, according to the latest reports, Apple has confirmed a partnership with Baidu, planning to use Baidu as a substitute for ChatGPT in the Chinese version. However, the collaboration is currently facing some obstacles, leading to delays in the original launch schedule. Nevertheless, Apple is actively promoting this partnership to provide a richer intelligent service experience for users in China.
