Today, in another significant breakthrough in the field of artificial intelligence, OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman posted on social media platform X, acknowledging that the company severely underestimated the demand for the AI video production model Sora.
Sora is an AI video generation platform launched by OpenAI, capable of creating high-quality video content from text prompts or static images. The release of this tool marks a significant advancement in video generation technology and signals a potential transformation in the creative industry.
The Sora platform is known for its unique features, including tools like Remix, Re-cut, Loop, Blend, Storyboard, and Style Presets, which are designed to give creators more control while simplifying the creative process and pushing the boundaries of AI-driven storytelling. The platform supports resolutions up to 1080p and video lengths of up to 20 seconds.
Despite Sora's impressive capabilities, its availability is currently limited. Sora is included in the ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscriptions, with Plus users able to generate up to 50 videos at 480p resolution per month, while Pro users have access to 1080p resolution, longer video durations, and watermark-free downloads.
In his social media post, Sam Altman mentioned that it will take some time before Sora is available to everyone, indicating that the model's widespread adoption and accessibility are facing challenges.
