EndlessAI, a four-year-old AI startup, recently launched its iOS application, Lloyd, which has already attracted over 50,000 users just three months after its quiet launch. What makes Lloyd unique is its use of self-developed video streaming and encoding technology to combine users' real-time video with AI models, supporting a variety of tasks from bicycle repairs to telling bedtime stories. Currently, 41% of users engage with the app daily.

Although Lloyd has not yet reached the milestone of over 100 million users achieved by ChatGPT in the first two months of 2023, EndlessAI's CEO Roi Ginat and Executive Chairman Thomas Pompidou are very encouraged by this progress. They announced plans to open the platform to third-party developers in early 2025 and to launch a consumer-oriented Android app in January.

EndlessAI is also continuously upgrading Lloyd, introducing a feature called "Abilities." The first "Chef" ability is now live in the app, allowing users to point their phone camera at the cooking area for real-time cooking guidance. Additionally, another upcoming ability called "Tour Guide" will enable users to capture videos of specific locations, with the AI providing relevant information and recommendations in real-time.

In the field of video analysis, Lloyd's core advantage lies in its ability to perform real-time video analysis at a cost that is 99% lower than traditional models. Pompidou emphasized that existing large language models face challenges in efficiently processing real-time video, while Lloyd has successfully overcome this limitation. He stated that using ChatGPT to analyze video could cost up to $300 per hour, whereas Lloyd can provide the same accuracy at a fraction of that cost.

EndlessAI values user privacy, ensuring that data is only visible to the user’s account and that the team only accesses data when users request support. Although the company is unsure of the specific popular use cases for Lloyd, user feedback indicates a significant interest in areas such as food preparation, home repairs, fashion, and lifestyle.

In addition to consumer-facing features, EndlessAI is also developing tools to help developers and businesses leverage its technology. A developer toolkit expected to launch early next year will allow developers to integrate AI visual capabilities into their own applications. Pompidou noted that this toolkit will support real-time API communication and enable developers to choose different components based on their specific needs, catering to various industries.

With Lloyd rapidly attracting users and showcasing diverse applications and a strong development roadmap, it is poised to become a significant innovation in the AI field.
