The domestic artificial intelligence company Wunwen Xinqiong has announced the open-source release of its latest developed edge-side multimodal understanding AI model — Megrez-3B-Omni. This model is the world's first open-source project of its kind, marking the company's innovative development in the AI field. Meanwhile, Wunwen Xinqiong has also launched a pure language version of the model, Megrez-3B-Instruct, to further enrich its product line.
Founded in May 2023, Wunwen Xinqiong's founding team comes from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Tsinghua University. The company is committed to building efficient AI computing optimization capabilities to enable the effective implementation of large models. Its unique solutions include an integrated intelligent system of "edge model + edge software + edge IP," aiming to achieve unified deployment of various large model algorithms across multiple chips, promoting the infrastructure development for the era of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).
As of now, Wunwen Xinqiong's AI platform supports over 20 mainstream models, such as Baichuan2, ChatGLM3, and Llama2, and is compatible with various computing cards including AMD and NVIDIA, achieving joint optimization and unified deployment of software and hardware. This efficient resource utilization significantly reduces customers' computing costs in large model inference operations, improving usage efficiency by 90%.
In terms of financing, Wunwen Xinqiong successfully completed nearly 500 million yuan in Series A funding in September 2023, with a total financing amount close to 1 billion yuan. This round of funding was supported by several well-known investment institutions, including social security funds, Qiming Venture Partners, Hongtai Fund, and Lenovo Capital.
Wunwen Xinqiong's strategy is not only focused on the development of AI models but also emphasizes collaboration with terminal manufacturers. Through AI module products, the company integrates large model capabilities into various terminal devices, promoting the widespread application of AI technology.
