With the upcoming release of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series smartphones, the highly anticipated upgraded Bixby voice assistant will also enter the global market. Currently, this powerful AI assistant is only available on the Galaxy W25 and W25 Flip phones in China, but it is expected to be rolled out to most markets soon after the launch of the Galaxy S25.

According to South Korean media ETNews, the new Bixby assistant utilizes a customized large language model (LLM), significantly enhancing its natural language understanding capabilities. This upgrade enables Bixby to handle more complex queries, similar to Google's Gemini or OpenAI's ChatGPT. The assistant will combine Samsung's Gauss generative AI model with Google's Gemini, granting it even more robust features.

The new version of the Bixby assistant will not only help users create PDFs and documents but also answer more complex questions and provide educational guidance on the phone's built-in features. This brand-new AI experience is expected to be released as part of One UI 7, which is based on the upcoming Android 15 system and is currently in the testing phase, with a stable version likely to arrive shortly after the Galaxy S25's launch.

Samsung has clearly put significant effort into adjusting its generative AI model, and the new Bixby assistant will also feature a completely redesigned visual interface. Originally scheduled to debut in the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in July, this plan was delayed due to "scheduling issues." With Samsung having launched this assistant in China last month, global users will also have the opportunity to experience the improved Bixby assistant.

The new Bixby assistant offers capabilities similar to Google's solutions, but Samsung hopes that users of the Galaxy S25 will prefer their own voice assistant, while users will still have the option to use Google's voice assistant.
