The cloud software giant Salesforce is planning a large-scale recruitment of sales personnel to boost the market sales of its AI tools.

According to a report by CNBC, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff stated at a company event on Tuesday that the company plans to hire 2,000 new sales representatives. This number is double the hiring plan that Benioff revealed last month during an interview with Bloomberg. Benioff also mentioned that Salesforce has received 9,000 applications for these 2,000 positions.

This large-scale recruitment coincides with Salesforce's plan to launch its second-generation AI agent software in February next year.

Recently, Benioff stated on TechCrunch's Equity podcast that he expects Salesforce to have over 1 billion AI agents within the next 12 months. Regarding generative AI, Benioff added, "I've never been this excited about anything at Salesforce, perhaps even in my entire career."

Salesforce's significant expansion of its sales force demonstrates the company's commitment to AI products and confidence in their future development. With the increasing maturity of AI technology and the continuous expansion of application scenarios, the potential of the AI market is enormous. Salesforce aims to leverage its strong sales team to introduce AI products to a broader market, seize opportunities, and strengthen its leadership position in the cloud software sector.
