Just five months after announcing the establishment of the $100 million Anthology Fund, Menlo Ventures and Anthropic have provided funding support to the first 18 startups and plan to continue seeking more promising investment opportunities.

Menlo Ventures stated that these 18 startups were carefully selected from thousands of applications, covering multiple fields including recruitment software, autonomous coding, model decision interpretability research, fintech compliance and tax applications, radiological image analysis, chart review, non-human identity cybersecurity, customer engagement software, and consumer nutrition applications. Additionally, there are 8 companies that have been accepted into the program but are currently under confidentiality.

The Anthology Fund combines elements of corporate entrepreneurship programs and incubators, providing funding and resource support for startups. The fund will offer at least $100,000 in funding support to startups from pre-seed to Series B, along with $25,000 worth of Anthropic model credits. This initiative aims to help startups grow rapidly while promoting innovation in AI technology at the application level.

Menlo Ventures is one of the key supporters of Anthropic, and together through this fund, they are driving the development of new applications in the AI field, moving beyond a focus on foundational models and infrastructure to concentrate on building new types of applications on top of them. Menlo Ventures partner Tim Tully stated at the program's launch, “We are one of the largest investors in Anthropic and a devoted fan of their work. This is a great opportunity to gain insights into the ecosystem and discover outstanding companies based on Anthropic or broader AI foundations.”

The establishment of the Anthology Fund not only provides funding and resources for AI startups but also creates a collaborative development platform for Menlo Ventures and Anthropic, aiming to seize the next major opportunity in the field of artificial intelligence by 2025.
