Li Liyun, the head of autonomous driving at Xiaopeng Motors, recently disclosed the company's timeline for the development of autonomous driving, announcing plans to first offer semi-autonomous driving capabilities in the Max series models by 2025, making it the first domestic car manufacturer to set a clear timeline for the implementation of autonomous driving.
Li Liyun stated that Xiaopeng is currently on the "eve of autonomous driving." Based on a strong belief in the Scaling Law of autonomous driving, Xiaopeng has chosen a pure vision-based intelligent driving technology path. He believes that with the accumulation of massive amounts of data and the continuous enhancement of computing power both in the cloud and in vehicles, there is still significant potential for the development of autonomous driving.
In terms of specific strategy, Xiaopeng will fully equip future models with the Max version and plans to adopt a pure vision solution throughout its AI Turing Intelligent Driving (NGP) system. This choice of technology path reflects Xiaopeng's long-term investment and confidence in visual perception technology.
The proposal of this ambitious goal marks a new stage in the development of autonomous driving technology in China and demonstrates the determination of new car-making forces in exploring cutting-edge technologies.
