According to reports from "Intelligent Emergence," Zhang Xiaoran, the head of ByteDance's CapCut product, has resigned.

Zhang Xiaoran graduated from Wuhan University of Science and Technology and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and was an early member of the predecessor of CapCut, "FaceMo." Since the end of 2021, she has been responsible for the overall business of CapCut, Xingtou, and other products, witnessing the entire process from the founding phase to rapid development. CapCut

During Zhang Xiaoran's tenure, CapCut achieved significant growth. Launched by ByteDance in 2019, CapCut has developed into a comprehensive product matrix covering individual, professional users, and enterprises. Reports indicate that by 2024, CapCut and its overseas version, CapCut, combined monthly active users surpassed 800 million, with annual total revenue approaching 10 billion yuan, maintaining triple-digit growth. Notably, CapCut has performed exceptionally well in overseas markets, capturing 81% of the total active users in mobile video editing and ranking second in downloads on the US App Store.

In the wave of AI, CapCut is actively laying out AI innovations. The product has introduced features such as digital humans, AI intelligent voice-over editing, and text-to-image generation, and is set to launch the AI video application "Ji Meng" in May 2024. ByteDance plans to increase resource investment in "Ji Meng," aiming to build it into a comprehensive application platform for gaming, video, and the Metaworld.

As of the time of publication, ByteDance has not responded to the news of Zhang Xiaoran's resignation.
