Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held the inaugural meeting of the Artificial Intelligence Standardization Technical Committee in Beijing. The establishment of this committee will play a fundamental, strategic, and leading role in promoting the high-quality development of artificial intelligence and empowering new industrialization through standards.
The committee is designated as MIIT/TC1 and will primarily be responsible for the formulation and revision of industry standards in the field of artificial intelligence. The secretariat is located at the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, marking it as the first standardization technical committee established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, indicating that the standardization work in China's artificial intelligence sector has entered a new phase.
After the inaugural meeting, the committee held its first plenary session to review and approve the committee's charter, the secretariat's working regulations, and the procedures for formulating and revising standards. Additionally, the members outlined key work points for 2025 and looked ahead to future development goals. This meeting not only laid the foundation for the committee's subsequent work but also provided strong support for the healthy development of the artificial intelligence industry.
