At last year's CES exhibition, Samsung made a significant announcement with the launch of its latest robotic product—Ballie. After five years of development, this rolling smart robot has finally made substantial progress. Samsung recently announced that Ballie will officially be available to consumers in 2025, reigniting hope for many eager users.

When Ballie first appeared at CES, it attracted a lot of attention. Now, after a more practical redesign, it seems to be one step closer to actual market release. However, opinions on Ballie's functionality and practicality remain mixed. Some observers believe that Ballie's wheels appear somewhat fragile and are concerned about its performance in everyday use.

During its debut at CES, Ballie performed a series of live demonstrations. In the demo, the operator asked Ballie for information about nearby attractions, and Ballie responded by projecting relevant information onto the ground. When more detailed driving directions were needed, Ballie flexibly turned and switched the projection to the wall for a larger view. This intelligent response showcased Ballie's impressive visual recognition capabilities.

Additionally, Ballie can interact with users through voice commands and even project virtual buttons onto the ground, allowing users to select corresponding functions by stepping on them. In one demonstration, when a presenter raised two bottles of wine asking for pairing suggestions, Ballie quickly responded, displaying its visual AI capabilities. However, despite the smoothness of the demonstration, some netizens expressed skepticism about whether Ballie's responses were pre-programmed.

Beyond basic Q&A functions, Ballie can also control smart home devices, allowing users to manage lighting and other home equipment via voice commands. Although this feature diverges from Samsung's original vision, it still showcases a certain appeal.

Samsung has stated that Ballie will be launched in 2025, with TechRadar providing a more specific timeframe of the first half of 2025. As for the price, there is currently no concrete information, so everyone will have to wait and see.
