Recently at the CES exhibition, Google announced the integration of Gemini AI into its Google TV to enhance user interaction and convenience. This update is planned for release this year, allowing users to perform voice searches directly without saying "Hey, Google," significantly improving the user experience.

This new feature allows users to search using natural phrases, such as asking, "What are the latest movies released by Disney?" Additionally, users can ask broader questions like, "What are the best places to travel in Asia during summer?" Google TV will display relevant results from YouTube based on the queries. At the same time, users can interact with smart home devices through the smart voice assistant, such as viewing video doorbell footage and adjusting lights.

To enable these features, Google will equip TVs running its operating system with far-field microphones, allowing users to control the TV with voice commands without speaking into the remote. Furthermore, Google TV will also be equipped with proximity sensors that can display personalized information widgets, such as weather forecasts or news stories, when users are near the TV.

It is worth mentioning that Google is not the only company bringing AI technology to television. LG and Samsung have also announced collaborations with Microsoft to introduce the Copilot assistant into their television products, further advancing the smart capabilities of TVs.

The launch of this new technology will make home entertainment experiences smarter and more convenient, allowing users to easily access information and enjoy a richer array of content.
